The Cookie Switch
Cookie banners usually come with long lists of partners and switches. Ours is short because there is very little to switch. This page explains what the bar at the bottom of the screen does and how to change your answer.
What the site stores
Nytscol Finance sets no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies and no social media cookies. The only thing kept is your answer to the cookie bar: whether you pressed accept or decline. That answer is written to your browser's local storage, a small storage area that belongs to your device, so the bar can stay out of your way on the next page you open.
| Item stored | Location | Why it is kept | Kept until |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your accept or decline answer | Your browser's local storage | Stops the bar reappearing | Until you clear it |
The entry is not sent to us or to anyone else and does not identify you. Accepting does not switch on any hidden tracking, because there is none to switch on; declining does not make any part of the site stop working.
Why ask at all?
Strictly speaking, a site this simple could do without the question. We show it anyway because readers have come to expect a clear statement, and because it gives us a natural place to explain that nothing else is going on behind the pages.
Changing your mind
To see the bar again, remove the stored data for this site in your browser:
- Go to the browser's settings menu and look for the part dealing with site data and permissions.
- Search for this site's address in the list of sites with stored data.
- Delete its data, then reload any page here.
In Chrome the same result comes from the site settings next to the address bar; our guide on clearing the cache in Chrome walks through those menus. A private or incognito window also starts without the stored answer and forgets it when you close the window.
Other websites
Articles occasionally link elsewhere. Sites you reach that way set their own cookies under their own rules, which this page does not cover.
More about your data
The Privacy Notice covers the rest: hosting logs, emails you send us and your rights. Questions can go to the address on Reach Us.
